Thurles Chamber Enterprise Centre (TCEC) was funded by Thurles Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise Ireland, Technological Institute of the Shannon (TUS), Local Enterprise Office Tipperary (LEO), Tipperary County Council and Thurles Town Council. TCEC has been in operation since 2012.
Enabling startups and scaleups to succeed, corporates to innovate, and the Irish entrepreneurial ecosystem to thrive.
Our centres offer affordable space to our entrepreneurs, so your ideas can flourish, and relationships evolve supporting a culture of creativity, innovation, and professionalism.
Our high quality, professional workspaces enable start-ups to thrive with 24/7 secure access to a full range of office and research facilities with resources in a vibrant entrepreneurial community.
Or if you’ve already outgrown your office space, we can help with graduation add on spaces.
Equally if office space is not a requirement for your start-up, virtual membership is also available enabling you to tap into all the other resources available from TUS's Innovation & Enterprise Community.

In terms of helping businesses that have started and grown from there but also in second siting which is becoming more and more important where businesses may be based in Limerick or other places are siting some of their workers in Thurles because it allows people to work closer to home.

Both outward facing teams are a key part of TUS’s commitment to ensuring our academic programmes are aligned with sectoral needs and support the socio-economic development of the region.

Student Inc

The Student Incubation Programme also known as Student Inc. is a programme set up to encourage student entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas in TUS. It is a full time programme that usually runs from the months of June-August. The undergraduate students range from various different courses. This programme is led by Gillian Barry, Head of Innovation & Enterprise and the Enterprise Interns. The students receive expert mentoring in the areas of market research, finance, business planning and much more. Each thriving entrepreneur receives €4,000 to fund their business. They will also obtain a fully serviced office space in one of our centres based in Limerick, Tipperary & Athlone. 

NEW - Creative Student Inc. – Empowering Creativity at TUS 

Are you ready to transform your creative ideas into a thriving business? Creative Student Inc, a new addition to the Student Inc. programme, is designed specifically for students at TUS who are passionate about the Creative Industries. Whether you’re exploring craft, fashion, design, or other creative fields, this programme offers tailored support to help you turn your vision into a successful enterprise. 

Creative Student Inc. provides a unique blend of workshops, expert mentorship, and access to a community of like-minded creatives, giving you the tools to navigate the world of creative entrepreneurship. From building your brand and connecting with your audience to finding funding and scaling your ideas, this programme ensures your artistic vision is at the heart of everything you do. 

Whether you’re studying at LSAD or another TUS campus, if you have a passion for creativity and an idea worth pursuing, Creative Student Inc. is here to support your journey.

If you answered yes to any of the above then apply now for a place on the 2025 Student Inc. programme. Student Inc. is Ireland’s longest-running student accelerator programme and will run this year from the 26th of May to the 22nd of August, together with Creative Student Inc. We support the student population of nine universities TUS, MTU, UCC, UL, MIC, SETU, ATU, Dundalk IT & Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology by providing opportunities to gain hands-on business skills and entrepreneurial training through inter-university activities. The programme will be supported by the campus incubation centres on each of the third level campuses.

The following supports will be provided:

€4,000 in seed funding (stipend)
Training
Mentoring
Office space and the expertise within the on-campus incubators
The opportunity to pitch to potential investors
Work with other like-minded students from across your campus as well as the other partner campus
The opportunity to network with the entrepreneurs based in the on-campus incubation centres
Student Inc. and Creative Student Inc. are open to all students regardless of year or area of study. (undergrad, postgrad, flexible learning)
