We empower people by providing an outstanding higher education experience relevant and responsive to our stakeholders’ needs. TUS & TCEC provides support to innovation and enterprise in the region using a wide variety of tools.

Start Up Clinics

TUS in conjunction with partners run start up and entrepreneur development programmes as well as managing two early stage seed funds for our clients across Limerick and Tipperary. Our wider team include entrepreneurs (we have an advisory board with exceptional experience), investors, designers, coaches, experts in product/service development, business development, finance, leadership, experts in various niche and vertical areas.

Sustainable Development

The Sustainable Development Research Institute (SDRI) will deliver TUS’s ambition to be at the forefront of sustainable development in the TU Region, by delivering inter-disciplinary research and building new knowledge and delivering positive impacts for and outcomes for society. It will build on the extensive foundation of applied research within the TUS Thurles campus to create a Nationally and Internationally recognised centre of excellence which enables communities, enterprise and industry to contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Supports

We want people to quickly develop innovations and respond to opportunities and threats in new and existing markets. Funding supports the better planning of R&D and innovation projects. There are support programmes designed to encourage companies to think strategically about disruptive technologies and take time to look beyond their own organisation for inspiration and guidance. Projects should be innovative and include a level of risk, and not simply focus on routine changes or adopting best practices.
